Bluetooth Watch Winder

Bluetooth Watch Winder

A connected Watch Winder gives you the ability to manage the care of your automatic watches directly from your smartphone. At SwissKubik, the Masterbox programmable watch winder offers this functionality via a Bluetooth app, allowing rotation cycles to be precisely configured to provide optimal care for each calibre. Far from being a simple motor that rotates continuously, it is a precision Watch Winder that lets you adjust both the number and direction of rotations according to the specific requirements of your timepiece. Discover how connectivity transforms watch care, what distinguishes a connected Watch Winder from a fixed-programme model, and why Swiss expertise makes all the difference.

The programmable Watch Winder: app-controlled precision

An automatic watch winder replicates the movements of the wrist to keep a watch running when it is not being worn. A programmable Watch Winder goes one step further by allowing you to define its rotation cycles precisely. Masterbox comes with a standard setting of 1,600 rotations per day — 800 turns in each direction — a configuration suitable for keeping most automatic watches running. Through the SwissKubik mobile app, connected via Bluetooth, you can adjust the number and direction of rotations according to your watch manufacturer’s recommendations, providing optimal care for your timepiece.

This level of control is particularly useful for watches equipped with a unidirectional winding calibre, for example. Masterbox performs the programmed number of rotations with precision thanks to its optical reader, unlike many Watch Winders that rely on approximate estimates. The result is genuinely calibrated care, tailored to the requirements of your timepiece.

In terms of power, Masterbox operates cordlessly for up to three years on two alkaline batteries. For step-by-step instructions on configuring your Watch Winder, see our user guide.

Connected Watch Winder or fixed-programme model: which should you choose?

The key difference between the connected Masterbox and a fixed-programme model such as Startbox lies in customisation rather than measurement accuracy: both feature the same optical reader and therefore count rotations with the same precision.

Startbox focuses on simplicity. Its preset programme — 1,600 rotations per day, with 800 turns in each direction — is calibrated to suit most automatic watches, with no settings or app required. Simply place the watch inside and let the Watch Winder take care of the rest. It is an ideal choice for one or two watches with standard winding requirements, or for anyone who prefers not to configure any settings.

Masterbox, by contrast, is designed for those who want greater control over watch care. Its Bluetooth connectivity enables precise adjustment of rotation cycles, it can accommodate up to 12 watches, and its premium materials make it a piece worthy of display. In short, Startbox automates the process, while Masterbox gives you control. The former is ideal for someone with a single watch; the latter is better suited to collectors whose calibres require different settings.

The benefits of a connected SwissKubik Watch Winder

Three practical advantages distinguish an app-controlled Watch Winder from a more basic model.

  • Tailored programming. Rather than relying on a fixed cycle, you can use the Bluetooth app to adjust the number and direction of rotations for each of your watches. The same configurable watch winder can therefore accommodate timepieces with different requirements, making it particularly well suited to diverse collections.
  • Rest periods between cycles. Between rotation sequences, the Watch Winder pauses, allowing the watch’s mainspring to relax naturally. These programmed rest periods prevent the mechanism from being continuously engaged and help protect its components over time.
  • Long-lasting cordless operation. Up to three years of operation on two alkaline batteries, with no need for a mains connection. The Watch Winder can be positioned wherever you choose, including inside a safe, without requiring a nearby power socket.

These technical benefits are complemented by its aesthetic appeal. Available in Aluminium, Leather, Wood or Carbon Fibre, Masterbox is as much a precision instrument as a decorative object, reflecting the exacting design standards of a Swiss watch winder.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Bluetooth Watch Winder compatible with my smartphone?

Masterbox is controlled via the SwissKubik mobile app using Bluetooth. Exact compatibility with supported operating systems and versions should be checked with SwissKubik before purchase.

Do I need the app to use the Watch Winder?

No. Masterbox comes with a standard cycle of 1,600 rotations per day, with 800 turns in each direction. The app is used to customise these settings. If you do not wish to configure the Watch Winder, the default cycle is already suitable for most automatic watches.

How long do the batteries last?

The Watch Winder operates cordlessly for up to three years on two alkaline batteries. These are replaceable batteries rather than a rechargeable battery. The app also allows you to monitor the remaining battery life.

What is the difference compared with Startbox?

Startbox runs a fixed programme without an app, while Masterbox is a programmable watch winder with Bluetooth connectivity and can accommodate up to 12 watches. Both provide the same low-noise operation and the same measurement accuracy thanks to their optical reader.
