A New Chapter of Trust

We are honoured to be working once again with Roger Dubuis, a manufacturer that, like us, embodies the high standards of Swiss Made. Selected for our renowned expertise in designing high-end watch winders, we rose to the challenge of creating a bespoke case to accompany the Merlin The Enchanter watch, a masterpiece from the Knights of the Round Table collection.

The Enchanting World of Merlin The Enchanter

In this new interpretation of the Arthurian legend, Roger Dubuis sketches a crystal sanctuary forged by Merlin’s magic, an invisible world, yet infinitely radiant.

The dial is composed of 56 hexagonal blocks in rose gold, glass, enamel, aluminum, and crystal, forming a three-dimensional sculptural scene.

Twelve micro-sculpted rose gold knights stand guard, frozen in heroic stances around a central crystal radiating with light.

Such narrative and technical richness called for a case worthy of the masterpiece - functional, inspired, and meticulously executed.

An architecture composed of 45 hexagons

For this exclusive creation, our Manufacture—working in close collaboration with Atelier Alphega—designed a complex structure composed of 45 hexagons. Each component was handcrafted with extreme attention to materials, textures, and finishes.

A material elevated by the human hand

At the heart of our creation, the white hexagons crafted from Krion Snow White embody purity and refinement. Precisely cut from 12 mm slabs, they were thinned to varying thicknesses - 3, 6, and 9 mm - with some featuring angular cuts. Each piece was then hand-sanded, from grain 240 to 800, to achieve a velvety, mineral touch. Select surfaces were coated with a high-gloss varnish and hand-polished to reveal an almost otherworldly glow, echoing the magic of Merlin himself.

Textural contrasts for a living, sculpted surface

The case also features grey hexagons crafted from bead-blasted and lacquered aluminum with a textured finish. This treatment evokes the mysterious roughness of magical stones, contrasting with the airy transparency of the plexiglass hexagons. Sandblasted or polished to crystal clarity, these plexi elements were sanded up to a 30,000 grit, then buffed with paste to eliminate even the slightest micro-scratch. The result: a play of light and transparency, where each reflection evokes the invisible palace of the enchanter.

Suspended Architecture

To create this captivating composition, certain elements were layered with extreme precision. This layering gives the case sculptural depth, where translucent surfaces interact with the tones of the background. The result is the illusion of a suspended, almost immaterial architecture. Every line, every junction, every angle was designed to capture light, like an enchanted stone at the heart of a mythical forest.

An exceptional case, down to the finest unseen detail

The inside of the winder lives up to its striking exterior. The central structure was 3D-printed, then hand-refined to achieve flawlessly smooth surfaces. The leather lining, meanwhile, required meticulous craftsmanship: precise splitting, millimetric adjustment, invisible seams. The back cover was finished with discreet elegance. Every element hidden from view was crafted with the same care as the visible ones, because for us, excellence resides in every last detail.
